Welcome to DaveUrban.com and this blog about, well... blogs.  Oh no.  That can't be.  Not, yet another blog about blogs or blogging.  There must be only thousands of them out there on the Internet already.  Do we really need one more?

Hold on; let me explain.  I'm Dave Urban and to be more precise, I've started writing this blog to explore blog platform technology and to share that experience with others who may be interested in how blog platforms work.  Along the way, I'll look at several different ways to "do blogging", examining the technical nuts and bolts that make blogs work (and possibly not work), explaining things in understandable terms, both for myself and hopefully for you too.  Read on.

May I See My License?

To put it bluntly, I don't have one.  At least not for blogging.  But don't be dismayed, it may be a blessing in disguise.  In fact that's just what I'm going for.

While it's true that at this point my blog expertise is only blogger-in-training, I'm also a veteran IT (Information Technology) professional with 23 years of experience in designing, building, installing, programming, maintaining, administrating -- you get the idea -- corporate computer systems.  And as added bonus, I have a knack for explaining technology in easy to understand ways not often found in those of us who work with technology for a living.
